I have a 50 gallon with 3 guppies 2 mollies and some fry. I bought a young silver angelfish yesterday and asked the guy if it would be okay with full grown guppies; and I knew they would eat small fry. He said it would be fine with my fish and it really shouldn’t mess with my fry. After bringing home my angel and reading up on him; it seems the guy at the fish store was wrong about everything. What r ur opinions and experiences? I really like the angel and want to get more; but not if it jeopardizes my exisiting fish. TY for the info. I have already asked this questions but would like a few more responses before I return it. I’m pretty ticked off at the store. Thanks.
I didn’t buy a fish that would eat my other fish; it was a spur of the moment buy. Since I didn’t read up on them I asked the store many questions.
Those who don’t believe an angel will eat the adult guppies; won’t it nip at the fins severely?
Soup Nazi I would love to slap him; he could of said I’m not sure let me ask; he will more than likely get in trouble when/if I go back to the store and complain.

The fry currently in the tank are a couple months old and are too big for any of the fish to eat.

ok so i want to start a aquarium. i don’t know what type of tank i can afford so i am thinking a 10 gallon? the fish i want to put in is 1 angelfish, 1 discus (maybe 2? i need help to know if this fish will be ok alone..) 2 blue coral platies, and i want 1 kuhli loach. this is what i need help with… first off, will 1 discus be ok in the aquarium? same question with the kuhli loach, will it be ok being the only species of its kind in the aquarium? my last question is; is there is enough room in the 10 gallon tank for all the fish i might have to be happy and healthy? which would be 5 fish if i do not need 2 discus’ and loaches, and 7 if i did need 2 discus’ and loaches. is that enough room? ty for your answers and best answer gets the points
from the answers i have so far i greatly disappointed. i guess 10 gallon is very small, what about 20 gallon? enough or not much better? i dont know about only the blue platies and loaches i want my aquarium to be colorful.. anyone have suggestions of colorful fish to add to the aquarium maybe that you have or have seen?

I teach in a self contained high school classroom. One of my students is strong and he is AU with a facination with water. I am trying to find a way to lock my aquarium lid down so that he cannot take it off and stick his face under. It does not have to be completely covered because we want to work with him on not splashing the water. Right now it wrapped with bungee cords over and under and locked in the back but he is strong enough and smart enough to figure out how to push and manipulate those until the lid comes off. Any idea would help. There’s only one catfish so far. We can’t put anything else in until we figure out what to do. TY.
