For owners of water features, fish question?
Last year something ate my koi and goldfish. I started to replenish the water feature with a few goldfish and they are hiding now for 2 weeks. When I poke into the rocks they will come out for a mini second. When will they stop being shy and just swim around?
I have large areas between the rocks where there is room and they (now 2) are staying in there and not coming out not even when I am feeding them (or trying to feed) . My lost batch took awhile to get used to the environment but now this is going on 1 month! Guess the net will have to come over the area

whats wrong with my african cichlid?
have african cichlids. one hasnt eaten in 4 days now. Some of them like to move rocks and it almost looks like its got a mouth full of rocks but i really dont think anything is in its mouth. It WONT open its mouth for anything and is displaying very vivid colors and is being extra territorial. Whats wrong with my fish?

What kind of sand or rocks could I use for my aquarium?
I have a 10 gallon tank and I have one betta fish in it. I plan on putting some of the following: cory catfish, tetras, guppies, algae eaters, golden apple snail, african dwarf frog, and nerite snail. I’m not going to put all of these animals in there, just some. I want to know what kind of sand or rocks could fit my tank and these animals. Specific names and details would be most appreciated.

feeding angelfish?
i have tried dried food…frozen…dried algae…wont eat any of those..what else is left before he starves..he just pecks on the sand and rocks all day..cant possibly be enuf food there for a good size fish like this..
I think my beta fish is sick- he’s lost some of his color and he can’t seem to keep himself up when he swims?
I’ve had him for a few months now. I feed him regularly, clean his tank once every week or so, and I always condition his bowl. He’s a blue and red fish (very pretty) and just two days ago I noticed his color is not as bright as it used to be. Its like it has faded. And when he swims, he seems to struggle. When he swims up towards the top of his tank it seems like something is weighing him down so he mostly stays at the bottom in his rocks. He’s normally a pretty active fish so Im a little concerned. If anyone has an idea of what could be wrong please let me know. I don’t want my fish to die! THANKS!
