currently i ownma juwel 240 tank(4ft) currently running a normal tropical tank with the usually molies neons plec shaks etc!!
anyway i want to change set up to some colouful cichlid and what do i hav e to add to make it a chichlid compatable tank??
- change my gravel to sand?
-what the juwel filteration?
-add salt?how?
-decorations /ocean rock etc??
-food?
-lighting
-filtration
-hiding places like what?
- plants?
also which fish are better more colourful etc arfican cichlids or malawi and can i mix them together and recpmend me which to buy?
plz don’t just simply give me a link to a site plz explain too.
help would be most appresiated

hi i have guppies,molly’s,catfish {albino},plec,neons,gouramis, and sword tails and silver sharks, tiger barbs, in my 4 foot tank and i wanted to get angel fish and can i keep them together without them getting eaten? Also can i keep bata male fighter fish in their?

I know a bit about most pets but am new to the tropical thing. I have a large tank with 5 golfish,a plec, a sucking loach, 2 angelfish,a dwarf ghourami and now 4 guppies.Please advise.x I know goldfish are coldwater but are fine in hot water too.
I know many people who successfully mix goldfish with different varieties and have for years. In fact her goldfish are huge now.
my tank is at least 160litres and well maintained and I happen to know goldfish thrive in warm water.Its tropicals I don’t know about.

Zeus loves live bloodworms……my Red Harliquin died and out of respect the loaches left him alone and didnt have his eyes out like they normally do.

a video of my main discus tank. My white butterfly is continuing to spawn regularly on the filter inlet pipe(she does like spawning cones) and the skaggy male pigeon blood is continuing to eat the eggs! the blue diamonds in this tank are continuing to grow although the largest of them scuffed his gill plate on the plecs cave a few days ago and the tissue is visably missing.
