I have had a freshwater tropical fish tank for about 6 months now. We have an assortment of guppies, tetras, and catfish. The oast two weekends when I went to change the filter cartridge(carbon refillable cartridges) there have been littl black worms on the top half of the cartridge. They don’t seem to be bothering the fish, but I’m not sure what they are or where they’re coming from. I have tried getting a brand new cartridge out and cleaning the filter out. I also vaccuumed the gravel, but the worms keep coming back. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it?

Which do you prefer, and why?
Yeah, actually. I was the only five year old I knew who wanted to grow up and be a marine biologist.

Unfortunately, it turns out I can’t scuba dive, so that put a crimp in the marine biology career. However, I’m still very fond of aquatic life (and most of the rest of it, for that matter).

Well, I’m not sure why the user was compelled to send me that message, but I obviously haven’t erased the question… and now I will do exactly what they want me to do. I’ll choose a best answer.

It was a choice between the list of reasons they give as an answer, and another person’s, but since the 1-10 user turned out to be SO polite, they’ve made the choice much easier.

Around Christmas or next year I am planning on getting a saltwater aquarium. I have had freshwater aquariums for a few years. I think I’m ready to move on to bigger and better tanks.

Do you have any suggestions as far as what kind of fish I could put in a 30 gallon aquarium? What kind of coral or algea-eating fish could I have? I’d like some Clowns, Crabs, Shrimp, Lobster, Clams, Coral, Eels (maybe), and lots more!! I know of an octopous that can get to only 3″ that I found for sale online! I think I could get a few.

Don’t judge by the size on the aquarium please, as I might get a 130 gallon aquarium. I’m very excited so please don’t rude my joy.

After a couple of months the bubblewand seems to start to fail. The # & size of bubbles drop drastically. We have tried different company & types of bubblewands and it still happens. We have replaced the air pump. We have replaced the airline tubing. Is this a common or even expected problem? Is there anything we can do to prevent it? Please offer your expertise!

I have a 20 gallon community freshwater aquarium which houses 5 guppies, 2 platies, and a dwarf gourami, oh, and one otocinclus. Could I still fit a mini school of 6 neon tetras in there?? I have an air stone and a filter, but I may be getting a new filter sometime, onne of teh aqua clear 30 gallon filters. My water temp. is about 79 constant. Can I fit some more neons, and if so, how many would you reccomend?
