8×8x8′ fish tank?
I just finished my 8×8x8 ft. fish tank, I have it all setup, now I just got to know what fish to add. I might add 30 various pygogenus piranhas, but im thinking of doing a few pbass,a black and silver arowana, a jardini arowana, a couple motoro stingrays, an alligator gar, an florida gar, and a spotted gar. What else should I add?
How do I breed Killifish? best answer awarded?
I read something that said I had to use moss or whatever. So, can I make a spawn mop? Or whatever they are called. Those things you make out of string or whatever. Will they breed in a regular community fish tank? I have:
2 corys
2 killis
1 pleco
1 betta
4 danios.
Please tell me how to breed them and everything. Thanks!
Discus fish tank requires 6.5 ph?
Ive noticed that my discus color have change to a darker color since I broght them home from the fish store. I was told they live in average 6.5ph water condition. I tried doing that several times but ph is still too high. Now water looks cloudy. Maybe I put too much of that PH down liquid but still too high. Does this have anything to do with my white sand? Maybe this white sand making my discus uncomfortable.
Why do Goldfish always die?
One time I bought 3 gold fish and put them in a 5 gallion tank. The tank held guppies before. So the water was cycled and it wasn’t new. the water was tested and well ballanced. I moved my guppies into my larger tank and didn’t want a perfectly good fish tank to just sit there.
I added the goldfish and they were doing well.
By the end of the week they had all died. Then I got to thinking, why do goldfish always die? I wasn’t upset, goldfish are cheap, but I’ve bought cheaper fish that live for a year or more. I know goldfish live long. My mother bought 1 inch gold fish and had then for 6 years! they were over 6 inches long.
So are gold fish just a weak fish and thus die at the drop of a hat. Is it stress from livning in a crowded tank at the fish store?
The fish I bought were about 1 inch long.
unknown animal in fish tank?
i have three mollys, one platy, and two catfish in my freshwater aquarium. I use purified tap water when i clean their tank, and decorations include some real coral and shells, but i think everything in there is either fake or from the ocean. Today i noticed a bunch of tiny little bean shaped animals at the bottom of the tank, and since my mollys and platy have already had babies that look nothing like these bean things, i figured it was catfish babies. Looking closer, the animals are clear, with what looks like a bean shape shell, and they move around using legs at one side of their shell. I tried to take a picture, but my camera couldn’t focus in enough, so i’ll just say they are about a millimeter long, and i can see their organs through their bodies and shells. They look kind of like clams, but i doubt i would have clams appear in my tank, since they would have to come from a parent clam, which i have never had, What the hell are these things and are they going to harm my fish?
