We have had the catfish in our tank for a while and everything has been fine, now they are acting funny since we added the aquarium salt..HELP

I have a footlong blue channel catfish in a 20 US Gallon aquarium.
He has something on his left whisker and his left eye is all clouded uup. Also, on his left side at the back there are two white patches. I am currently giving him a treatment “Jungle Lifeguard”, and he isn’t getting and better, but he’s stopped getting worse.

Does anyone know what kind of medicine I should give him or any other general advice?

Do you think this would work well? I know bulheads don’t get very big, so i thought I’d try one of them in an aquarium instead of a channel or small flathead. What’s your opinion? And is 20 gallons big enough?

I’ve already asked if a channel catfish could survive in an aquarium. And people said yes, but I need a big aquarium. Exactly what size should I invest in? Thanks for the help.
