i did a 70% water change and tested the water 10min later and the ammonia level is still the same. its a 55 gallon tank with a silver arowana, red oscar, and a red tail catfish. they’re all babies and same size. i siphoned everything out of the gravel and the ammonia level is still the same! help!!

ive had an african cichlid tank for about 3 months now, and its thriving quite nicely, but today i noticed that one of my female cichlids color had changed. i BELIEVE she is a Pseudotropheus, although i cant be more specific than that (the pet store was poorly labeled). she was a light purple with dark purple tiger style stripes, and is now becoming yellow. the change is most noticable around the head and dorsal fin, with a light shading coming in around the scales.

the water conditions are fine, i have tested everything, and she is behaving normally and eating just fine….is this a normal thing for cichlids to do?

and another quetin is i have a under gravel filter but i change water every 2 month when it will be right ti clean gravel and all thing i change about third part of water ant left only i part behind and i have 110 liter tank and i have 12 fish they all are not so big so plz help and tell me how i can effectively change the water each time i change all the water and wash gravel fish dont eat for few days so i think that how long i should not have to do that ane chane the water

hi i have had and have tropical fish for 5 years now i had little neons up to big oscars and discus but lately iv’e ben having tank problems with random fish dieing and getting infections and i’m getting quite upset and stressed out by it and plus i live 100odd miles away from the local petshop i cant often get medicines i need for them!!! i don’t know whats happening because i dont overfeed them i change 50% every week i quartine new fish i just dont bloody know and its really all starting to take its toll on me now. i have a few tanks but the one i would be using is a 180Litre should i change to goldfish and also what can be kept with goldfish i read that minows,danios,some loaches and catfish,siamese fighting fish can be?? please help me i just want some fish without all the hassle and a hardy bunch of fishes?? thank you for your help

well, i had some black moors. they were doing it and then they died. i did a 40% water change and tested the water. the water tested fine. then my large regular goldfish started acting weired, so i put him in a tank by himself and added salt. he seems to be acting a little better, but is still going over to the air bubbles. i just don’t want to loose another one.
