Keeping native fish- sunfish etc. HOW BIG?
We have 5 fish sunfish (bluegill and redear) that are mixed in our tropical community tank. The 4 newbie are approx 3- 3 1/2 in. long and the one who has been in there a few months is about 4-5 in. long. As far as the tropicals go I have a huge pink kissing fish about 5 inches long, a tiger barb, 1 dwarf gouarmi, 1 cory cat, a loach, and a sliver catfish. So far so good. Only the blue gill was trying to intimidate the newbies. My question is how big will they get being in a 26 gallon tank? I know most fish will only grow as big as the tank they are in. I am most likely going to buy a bigger tank (55g) and set that one up as a native tank. TYIA.
Thanks for all the advice! I have since found a great forum for dealing with native fish. The fish are now out of my community tank and in their own temp 20 g tank until I get a larger set up in the next couple of months.

Ushiku Daibutsu Koi Fish
These Koi Fish were found in a pond in Ushiku just metres away from Ushiku Daibutsu, (arguably) the tallest statue in the world.
