Okay, I have a clown loach that’s really starting to worry me. They’re supposed to be bottom feeders, I know (since I have a couple other species of loaches in my tank), but for some reason, my clown loach stays at the top of the tank near the surface. He doesn’t swim oddly or have anything growing on him like a fungus. He’s also very thin, too. An unhealthy thin. I know he gets quite a bit of food ’cause I watch him eat. He never goes to the bottom to eat the algae wafers. He’ll stay at the top and eat the flakes. I know that he’s definitely NOT a tiger barb, just for those that might think that I’ve confused the fish with another species. Can anyone tell me what’s wrong with my fish, though? Thanks.

I bought 2 catfish to go with my angelfish since they can be tank mates but before i got the catfish i ended up get algae eaters and what i am wondering can the catfish be in the same tank as the algae eater and i also saw after i got the catfish home they eat wafers for catfish i thought they would eat tropical flakes since they are tank mates of angelfish.I give the algae eaters an algae wafer once every few days is it ok for the angelfish and catfish to eat the algae wafers and do i really need to get the catfish wafers and are those safe for the other fish
i give the angelfishes tropical flakes and some freezed dried blood worms. There isn’t any algae that i can see in the tank, my husband got them to eat what falls to the bottom that the angelfish doesnt catch casue of the filter.
im not sure husband got at walmart and they are sliver with black spots
the catfish are silver with black spots (sorry my almost 2 yr old daughter keeps trying to type on here with me.)

My mom has a 55 gallon aquarium with an 8 inch Pleco and a bunch of other fish (mostly mollies and platys and two catfish) We feed the fish 4x daily and on the last feeding (around 9 or so) we drop in about 5 algae wafers in there, the two catfish eat some of the algae, but the algae eater scares them away from it and eats what he wants and then the cat’s get to eat. Well, I have been noticing bits of mom’s live plants floating around and I thought it was the Silver Dollars because they are herbivores, but today I noticed it was moms Pleco ripping peices off of the plant and eating it. Why is he doing that when we feed him so much algae wafers?
