Well i just bought an electric blue african cichlid for a 29 gal tank. In the tank i kept a jack dempsey and a shovelnose catfish. I’ve never had a problem eith the jack dempsey because he is surprisingly peacful and friendly to the other fish. But, the electric blue is now nipping at the shovelnoses fins. The other fish are being left alone because they usually stay in their caves. I want to get my shovelnose into a different tank. It just so happens i have a spare fifteen gallon tank with nothing but gravel and a plant. It has no heater or filter but it does have a bubble machine. I’ve read many places that shovelnoses can be put in water temps. of about 72 to 86 degrees. If i put him in that tank in my room which is usually kept at 75 degrees will he be ok for a few days without a filter?
yes they do have 29 and 15 walk into petsmart and look at the box its lima i dont need to hear about how big it will be when the time comes that it gets too big i will move it. Im worries about the matter at hand

can i have a pair of jewel cichlids and a pair of firemouth cichlids and have both pairs breed in a 55 gallon tank without any deaths

hi im starting a 55 gallon cichlid tank with a red tiger oscar and a jack dempsey how long will it take for each of them to get to there full size and what color gravel should i get im thinking black and blue
and i dont want to hear anybody telling me to get a bigger tank i cant aford to get a bigger tank and im not asking if they will go good in that tank i already asked a cichlid expert about thaty and he said theyed go perfect together all im asking is how big theyll get and how long it will take

just a quick question as i couldnt find anything via the web on it. can a flowerhorn be crossed with any cichlid species naturally? theres so many different types that resemble other cichlids and im curious if it can just naturally happen or it its all science (basically a fish built in a beaker)if there is any species please let me know! thanx much in advance =o].

i know many of you dont like hybrids but hey, this is my tank at home..i keep several cichlid species from all over the world and dont see the harm in owning one.

Im going to use this product to cure my fish , and it says on the back to remove the carbon filter.

My question is do you also remove the Bio Fiber Filter and just let the filter circulate the water for 48 hours?

My Convict Cichlid has a weird growth on his left pectoral fin , while his right pectoral fin is normal.
Any idea what that is?
