It likes to stay in the bottom and behind our tank decorations. it doesn’t eat the food that floats. it only comes out and grabs the algae wafer that I drop in and takes it to the back to eat it.
I just want to thank both of the users that replied to my question. I checked out the links on the 2nd reply I got and it looks like the striped liporus.

first question..which way are the stripes going? It could be several species. Also which way is its mouth turned. … A top feeding fish’s mouth is turned up and middle feeder has mouth in center of face and a Bottom feeding fish has its mouth turned down…. But possiblitys can range from these species, you will need to probally look up the pic on the net to varify If its mouth is turned down it might just be a queen botia , they are in the loach family and the stripes run up and down. Or it could also be a leporinus fasciatus it is a middle feeder with stripes running up and down. or it could also be a auratus this is a african cichlid it a middle feeder its stripes run side to side it is also quite aggressive. There are other possiblitys but those are some of the more commons yellow and black striped fish
