both of my clown loaches can often be caught relaxing on their sides or backs. first time i thought 1 was dead !!! — but then researched & found out this is very normal behavior for clown loaches.

i had two that did that, i thoght they were dead too, then i got a leopard bush fish and it sleeps too!

Nice tank! Your choice of fish is similar to mine! I have clown loaches, Red wag platties and i used to have some mollies. Good companions for loaches? Female betta splendens. Brilliant fish, so quirky and full of spunk.

not loaches…..maybe a goldfish or majority of other fish but thats when they float upside down….these guys go upside down by choice

I got two clown loaches today. They’re awesome! Really active and curious fish. The fact that they sleep on their side/back is rather sweet.
