A five gallon tank is too small for any one of those fish much less all of them. The pleco probably dies of ammonia poisoning. The bala shark should be in a "school of at least 3 and they can get to be over a foot long, The pictus cat can get to be over 6 inches long and plecos can get to be over 18 inches long. I would not add any more fish to the tank but rather get a much larger aquarium for the fish that you have nothing less than 55 gallons and that would actually be small for the fish that you have.

what he said plus adding plecs need wood in their diet so he’ll need driftwood but since you only have a 5g i recomend take those fish back and get a betta or a snail

The Advantage of pleco is cleaning the tank and consuming remaining food, provided that the aquarium is old enough to build algae. You need to feed Pleco only if no enough algae is available, try small portion (one tablet) if consumed over night you can add more depending on the size of the pleco. Pleco grows slowly but Bala shark will grow faster to out-fit your tank, BS is schooling fish and should not be kept single.

1 your tank is tooooo samll for a bala shark, catfish, and a pleco. they will eventually die slowly if you dont get a bigger tank. 2 you feed the pleco 1 alge waffter a day read it from the can or what ever the pleco food is in.

Regarding the pleco specifically, when did you buy it? was the tank cycled first? Plecos almost never survive a cycling, as they are sensitive to ammonia and nitrites, and should only be considered AFTER the tank is cycled… so if you bought it when you bought the other fish, it probably died because it was living through a cycling period. For a small pleco, only a 1/2 or 1/4 wafer suffices; put in when you turn out the lights. Underfeeding is the best option because you want it to focus on cleaning the tank, no?

Regarding the community of fish… I agree with those who mention your tank is too small. All those fish will quickly surpass one foot in length, and although they’re small and cute, you have a complete set of fish that require a lot of swimming space. Yes, they may fit in the aquarium, but require tons of horizontal swimming space to be happy.
